Registration at the Consulate-General is not compulsory but recommended.

Only registered citizens can obtain a Belgian identity card, Belgian passport or consular certificates.


Since 2/12/2020, the Embassy of Belgium in Abidjan offers you the opportunity to register online in the consular registers via the website econsul.diplomatie.be

You have access to this website if: 

  • You are Belgian
  • You are not registered in the consular registers of a Belgian Municipality
  • You have a valid and activated Belgian e-ID
  • You are in possession of your PIN code and a card reader
